HEARTBREAKERS

Florence Beckett didn’t anticipate becoming one of the biggest podcasters of all time.

Heartbreakers started out as a joke, just a drunken suggestion made by some stranger–Josephine–at a bar in East Village. But then that joke became reality. Now, two years out, Florence and Josephine are the dynamic duo–Flo and Jo–of Heartbreakers, a rapidly growing female-oriented podcast about dating, sex, and navigating your twenties in New York City. Florence’s best friend, Seb, is the team’s audio engineer, editing and putting the show together behind the scenes (exactly where he prefers to be). Florence loves any excuse to hang out with Seb…which totally doesn’t mean anything. They’re just friends. Obviously.

But as the show grows, so does the demand. Sure, with every episode, Florence has to spin some stories and fabricate some drama. But it doesn’t hurt anyone! The crazier the content, the more listeners for Heartbreakers. And the bigger the show will get. When HiTi, only one of the largest media companies on the planet, approaches Jo and Flo about their podcast, they have a conditional offer: achieve three million listeners by their 100th episode and they’ll make them a deal.

Josephine’s all in. She’ll do anything for Heartbreakers. And Florence will, too. Even if that means coming up with crazier content. Even if it means compromising her morals a bit. It’s okay, right? It’s all for show. And it’s just a show.

But when her dramatized content accidentally wreaks havoc on Seb’s life, Florence is faced with the consequences of her own content. Just how far is she willing to go for her art? Who is she willing to hurt? And is she really willing to risk love for success?
